Rep. Rick Glazier was among 32 North Carolina legislators who received a Sunshine Award from watchdog group Democracy NC. According to Democracy NC’s Press Release, “the biennial award is given to lawmakers who file ‘superior’ reports disclosing details about their campaign expenses and donations. Award winners: (1) filed their six reports in 2007-2008 on time and in an accessible format, (2) listed the purpose of 99% of their expense items over $50 and (3) provided economic interest or employer information for 99% of the dozens of individuals who gave more than $50 to their campaign.”

Rep. Glazier gave full credit for this honor to his longtime campaign treasurer, John G. Buie, Jr. of Fayetteville’s Buie, Norman and Co. “John is an integral part of the campaign and has always ensured that our finance reports are as transparent and detailed as possible”, Rep. Glazier said. “Thanks to his hard work we have been able to fulfill the promise of full disclosure about our campaigns. This award serves as futher proof of John’s effectiveness and professionalism as a campaign treasurer.”
